Econometrics with Machine Learning

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS


Basic concept of the volume:
This is meant to be an econometrics volume. Its main aim is to build a bridge between econometrics and machine learning to facilitate and promote the use machine learning techniques in econometrics.

Target audience:
Theoretical and applied econometricians, as well as graduate students in economics, econometrics and statistics.

Expected average length of a chapter:
About 40 - 45 pages. Maximum length about 50 pages. (Measured in LaTeX output pages, based on the macro provided by the publisher).

Notation:
Whenever possible please use the standard econometrics notation. When this is not feasible please make sure that those accustomed to the notations used in econometrics can easily understand it.

Typesetting: Please use LaTeX and the macro provided by the publisher. Until this is available please use plain LaTeX.

Language: You can use English or American spelling, but it must be consistent within a chapter.

Other minor issues:

  • Quotation marks: Please use double quotation marks (") when directly citing somebody, otherwise use a single one.
  • Use of abbreviation: other than the obvious ones, please define them when first used.
  • A Chapter has Sections (1.2, 1.2.3, etc. are all Sections) and no sub-chapters or parts.
  • When making direct reference to a web-site (e.g., www.xxx.zzz... or htpps:....) it should be dealt with as a reference: the address should be in the reference list.
  • Please use plural after data. Data are instead of data is.
  • Please use i.e., instead of i.e. and similarly e.g., instead of e.g.
